Stormy Afternoon at Trevose Head

The Trevose Head Lighthouse stands high above the unfortunately-named Stinking Cove (where I have never actually detected any unsavory odors), steadfast guardian over the entrance to Padstow Harbour. Trevose Head is exposed to the full force of the North Atlantic and is a great location to watch heavy seas crash into the cliffs. While it was relatively calm the day I took this photograph, the relentless power of the sea made itself apparent the next time I visited Trevose. The ledge that I took this photo from has fallen into the sea — thousands of tons of rock the size of a small apartment building, making this perspective impossible to replicate. It must have been an awesome (and terrifying) sight to behold.
