Whitby Abbey in the Evening
The Abbey at Whitby stood for hundreds of years until razed during Henry VIII's Dissolution of the Monasteries. The ruins are still in good condition, even though they suffered heavy bombardment during a German attack in WWII (they thought they were firing on another target and hit the Abbey by mistake).
Whitby and its Abbey feature as a location in Bram Stoker's 1897 novel Dracula.
